Sometimes, when I read news stories about climate change, I cannot help but hear that classic Nelly song. Climate change is a serious issue, and a real one, but of course, the mass media “narrative” (I really do hate that word) is biased to suit their own agenda.
This site has long argued that a catastrophic acceleration in global warming will directly and indirectly bring about a number of prophecies found in the Book of Revelation (please read the related write ups in the Topics section for a detailed argument). Whereas the mass media will often repeat the phrase “man-made climate change”, this site has argued that global warming gases that have been produced by man have increased global average temperatures to such a degree that natural and self-reinforcing global warming cycles have been triggered. As these natural cycles continue to strengthen, they will cause global warming to accelerate, and at some point, global average temperatures will spike to catastrophic levels. This site has argued that the first three trumpets of the Seventh Seal, as described in Revelation chapter 8, will be brought about by such a catastrophic rise in global average temperatures.
Fortunately for Believers, assuming our argument is correct that God will call us up in the rapture prior to the opening of the Seventh Seal, we will not be around for when the proverbial sh@t hits the fan of global warming. Unfortunately for those who are not called up in the rapture, climate paleontology research indicates that the amount of global warming gases already in the atmosphere is consistent with much higher global average temperatures when compared to similar periods in pre-historic times (literally millions of years ago). Given this, the implication is that it is just a matter of time before the triggered natural global warming cycles strengthen enough to cause catastrophic heat spikes.
The Whore of Babylon and the Beast will most likely use global warming to further their own agenda. However, Revelation tells us that the Whore’s efforts will end in failure. The Whore will be destroyed (Revelation 17:16), and Heaven will rejoice (Revelation 19:1-3). As we are in the midst of the End of Days, our lives will not be all rainbows and unicorns, but as Believers we can still live in the moment and enjoy the beauty that each day brings — and still be prudent enough to prepare for that which is to come. The world is filled with the signs of Revelation.
