The role of Arctic warming

Arctic warming plays a key role in global warming, and thus, an important role in the manifestation of many prophecies in Revelation.

Anthropogenic global warming has been slowing progressing over the decades as industrial development resulted in an increasing amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere.  This man made global warming, at present rates, would probably take another 100 years before the effects would become problematic.  If this were the case, then we would not be able to argue that global warming would play a role in the prophecies of Revelation, as our interpretation of scripture has lead us to call for Christ’s return by around 2048 — a 100 year window from the founding of the modern state of Israel.

However, anthropogenic global warming has progressed to the point where a number of ‘natural’ global warming self-reinforcing cycles have kicked in, which we believe will accelerate global warming significantly, and thus bring about a number of catastrophic events as described in Revelation.

There are a number of good articles that describe how the warming of the Arctic region is causing the release of methane into the atmosphere.  As the Arctic continues to warm, we will reach a point where there will be a catastrophic eruption of methane from the Arctic region — and this will bring about massive heat spikes as foretold in Revelation.

Though we have often commented on the links between global warming and the prophecies of Revelation, we will briefly review them.

We have argued that the effects of global warming are contributing to the efforts of the 4 horsemen to bring about chaos in the world.  Many climatologists have argued that as global warming worsens, it will bring about conflict, famine, disease, and death.  The drought in Syria is often quoted as a factor for bringing about civil war in that country.  As temperatures continue to rise, we can expect droughts to worsen in different parts of the world, similarly bringing about conflict and famine.  Mosquito borne diseases will also continue to spread, as the warmer weather will support an environment conducive to their breeding.

Revelation 8:7 has a more direct link to global warming, as it says:

7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

One third of the world will suffer heat and drought to the extent that all the trees will ‘be burnt up’ and all the grass will die.  California continues to serve as an example of what the world can expect.  Drought has ravaged the state, and the higher than average temperatures have resulted in massive fires across the state.  The drought and high temperatures have extended into the Pacific Northwest and many parts of western Canada and Alaska as well.  Revelation tells us that this is just the beginning.

Similarly in Revelation 16:8 we are told:

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

The world will be scorched by the sun, and we are not just talking about getting a mild sunburn from being at the beach too long.

The Pope and Obama would like to see the UN gain political power over nations in a fight against global warming, but now that anthropogenic global warming has triggered natural global warming cycles, it is too late and natural global warming will accelerate to bring about the prophecies of Revelation.
