In Revelation 8:10-11, we are told:
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
This prophecy in Revelation warns us that in the End of Days, one third of the world’s fresh water will become ‘bitter’, i.e. toxic, and will kill many people who will end up drinking that toxic water. Scientific research now shows us how this will come to pass –

This site has previously argued that, just as global warming is raising the water temperature of the world’s oceans, so too it must also be raising the temperature of the world’s lakes and rivers – our reasoning being partly driven by both common sense (the oceans are much deeper than lakes and rivers, so if the oceans are warming, so must the lakes and rivers), and partly driven by Revelation. This newly published scientific research validates our argument with solid data.
This new research shows that the water temperature of the world’s lakes are indeed growing warmer, and will continue to grow progressively warmer in conjunction with the overall trend of global warming. Just as warmer ocean water is more at risk to toxic algae blooms, so is fresh water. Fresh water is probably even more at risk to toxic algae blooms given that fertilizer runoff often ends up in our lakes and rivers (this runoff is especially conducive to causing algae blooms). As the water temperature of the world’s lakes rises, so will the frequency increase in harmful algae blooms. Anecdotally, we only just recently reported on a lake near San Francisco which never had a harmful algae bloom until a few years ago, and now such algae blooms is not uncommon.
This supports our argument that the opening of the seventh seal will coincide with a tremendous ‘heat spike’, where global warming will suddenly accelerate. The blowing of the first trumpet will result in one third of the world’s trees going up in flames (the boreal forest in Alaska, and the forests of the Pacific Northwest experienced an unprecedented amount of acreage burned). The second trumpet will result in one third of the world’s oceans being engulfed in a toxic red tide algae bloom, that will turn the color of the ocean blood red, and killing all marine life trapped within (there already is a massive red tide bloom off the coast of the Pacific Northwest, that stretches for hundreds of miles). The third trumpet will see the world’s fresh water similarly engulfed in toxic algae blooms, which will poison one third of the world’s lakes and rivers. We can see that these events are tied to global warming and its impact on the world’s environment.
The most pessimistic predictions of the world’s scientists might agree that global warming could result in the above, though even they would say that such a scenario is still remote even by the year 2100. However, as we have argued before, most researchers do not factor in the impact of ‘natural’ global warming cycles, such as the release of methane into the atmosphere from the Arctic permafrost or the ocean’s methane hydrates. We believe that at some point, there will be a sudden and explosive release of methane into the atmosphere from the Arctic region (most likely from eastern Siberia), and this release will trigger a sudden heat spike, which will trigger the events outlined above. The sixth seal has not yet been opened, so our scenario is still a ways off – perhaps as much as 5-10 years. However, once the sixth seal is opened – you will know it when it happens – the opening of the seventh seal will not be far behind.
The signs of Revelation surround us, even today. Be faithful and be prepared to endure. That will be one of the tests for Believers in the End of Days.
