The people in California seem to be getting a preview, a little taste, of things to come when the seventh seal is opened. The higher than average temperatures combined with the drought brought massive forest fires. In Revelation we are told the sounding of the first trumpet will herald the burning of 1/3 of the world’s trees. The ocean waters off the coast of California has experienced an incredible amount of warming, with the ‘blob’ of warm ocean water still growing. This has surely been an important factor in causing a massive toxic algae bloom which stretches from California to Alaska, and is hundreds of miles wide, and hundreds of feet deep. In Revelation, we are told the sounding of the second trumpet will bring about a massive red tide that will engulf 1/3 of the world’s oceans.
A recent news article tells us of an unusual harmful algae bloom in a lake that supplies San Francisco and the surrounding region with drinking water —

The authorities did not need to shut down use of the lake for drinking supplies — this time. However, the article notes that it is unusual for the this lake to experience harmful algae blooms, though such blooms have been relatively frequent in recent time. The sounding of the third trumpet will signal the coming of ‘wormwood’, that will turn 1/3 of the world’s fresh water ‘bitter’ — and many people will die from drinking the poisoned water.
In Revelation 8:7-11, we are told:
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
We can see that perhaps God is giving California a taste of things to come — perhaps to help them understand we are in the End if Days, or perhaps because He is just pissed (oops, I meant ‘wrathful’). Either way, these events in California helps us see how God will use global warming to manifest the prophecies found in Revelation. In a way, does this not show God is just — the suffering and calamity that will occur in the End of Days can be linked to man’s own decisions and actions. Man will literally bring God’s wrath upon himself — man will be responsible for his own suffering.
