Besides monitoring the amount of extant Arctic ice each summer, we also keep our eye on events in and around the Arctic Circle.  The reason for this interest is that according to some scientific research, the melting of the permafrost, both land-based and that found under the East Siberian Sea, will release enough methane to cause a catastrophic acceleration of global warming.

So it is with great interest that we have been monitoring not only the recent heat waves to hit western Canada, but also the heat waves washing over the Siberian land mass in Russia.

Ground Temperatures Hit 48 Degrees in the Arctic Circle (

Russian scientists have been trying to quantify the amount of methane being released from the permafrost found in Russia, but are hampered by a lack of funding.  It is amazing that extremists like Extinction Rebellion or “AOC” (I can’t be bothered to look up her proper name) will go on and on about cow farts and burps, but completely ignore the self-reinforcing global warming cycle represented by Arctic methane release.

The forest fires in western Canada and Siberia grow in size and intensity every summer.

This trend will continue, until at some point, the entire boreal forest will burn.  In Revelation 8:7, we are told:

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

After the opening of the Seventh Seal, the first trumpet will be blown, which will result in a massive global heat spike.  The boreal forest that rings the Arctic Circle will become so hot and dry, that quite literally the entire boreal forest will burn.  The record breaking fires that are now occurring in Siberia and Canada are just a precursor to what is to come.

God created the universe and science is merely man’s attempt to understand what God created.  Whether God decides to go Old-Testament and “magically” causes 1/3 of the world’s forest to catch fire, or whether He lets the natural working of His creation (e.g. the near spontaneous release of 2-5 trillion tons of methane currently locked in the Arctic) to fulfill His prophecy, I think it is best that we do not try limit Him in how He goes about His business.  Personally, I will go with the natural workings of His creation on this matter.

Either way, the accelerated warming of the Arctic is just one of the signs of Revelation that fills the world around us.  Walk in faith — and one could argue that preparing for the opening of the Sixth Seal is an act of faith, in the belief of the coming fulfillment of God’s prophecies.
