“Tis strange – but true; for truth is always strange, — stranger than fiction”

               Don Juan by Byron (1823)

I used to enjoy reading quite a lot.  I went through different phases in my choice of genres.  When I was younger, I read quite a bit of science fiction (I am looking forward to seeing the movie adaptation of Dune and the TV adaptation of Foundation).  Later in life, I enjoyed reading different spy thrillers while basking in the sun (I am a philistine when it comes to literature).  However, now, I find most fiction quite boring and predictable, especially in light of the current world we live in.  What is happening in the world now far surpasses any fictional work in terms of its scale and magnitude of drama, of horror, of tragedy, and finally of love and redemption.

The Moshiach

The story of the Moshiach, the Beast, and the Whore of Babylon begins thousands of years ago.  It begins with the traditional belief in the moshiach, the Jewish secular messiah.  The Jewish belief in the coming of the moshiach is not derived from the Torah (the first four books of the Old Testament), but rather from other books of the Old Testament.  In the Gospels, we are told of the tension between the traditional notion of a Jewish secular messiah (i.e., the moshiach) and Jesus of Nazareth.  Jesus Christ did not conform to the Jewish traditional notions of what the moshiach would represent, and as such, the Scribes and Pharisees of that time rejected Christ and persecuted His Believers.

The Jewish belief in the coming of the moshiach, the Jewish secular messiah, continued throughout the centuries that followed.  In the 12th century, a prominent Jewish scholar named Maimonides wrote an influential treatise, entitled “Thirteen Fundamental Principles”, in which he defined the core tenets of the Jewish faith, which every Jewish person must hold to.  Among those fundamental principles was the belief in the coming of the messiah and the messianic era.  Every Jews must not only believe but also “wait” for the coming of the moshiach.  Before we can appreciate the implications of this tenet, we must first understand what the Jewish people expect of their moshiach and the messianic era.  Though there has been much debate about many aspects of the moshiach over thousands of years, there is general agreement within the modern Jewish community on a few core points.

First, the moshiach will be from the Tribe of David.  The first implication of this belief is that the moshiach will be Jewish (this should be of no surprise).  The second implication is that the being from the Tribe of David, the moshiach will be of royal blood – a further implication from this is that he will be a king, and will rule as such.

Second, the moshiach will hold worldwide dominion, ruling over both Jew and gentile.  The traditional Jewish belief regarding the moshiach is that he will wield secular, political power – and this is one of their fundamental justification in denying that Jesus was the Jewish messiah, as Jesus refused to take on secular, political power (that was one of the temptations offered by Satan in the desert).

Third, the moshiach will rebuild the Jewish Temple on the Mount.  In 70 A.D., after putting down the Jewish rebellion (the ‘First Jewish Revolt’), the Romans destroyed the Jewish Temple as well as destroying the Jewish kingdom itself, scattering the Jewish people.  Though the modern state of Israel was founded in 1948, the Jewish Temple on the Mount has not yet been rebuilt.  Currently the Temple Mount is the site of one of Islam’s holy sites, the Al-Aqsa Mosque.  Those of the Islam faith believe that this is the site from which Mohammad ascended to heaven.  In order to rebuild the Jewish Temple, the Al-Aqsa Mosque would have to be relocated – something that would trigger not only riots among the Palestinian people, but also it would inflame the entire global Muslim community.  For this reason, at this point of time, rebuilding the Jewish Temple on the Mount is extremely problematic.

Lastly, the Moshiach will abolish all other religions and will establish Judaism as the sole religion in the world.  The Jewish secular messiah will not only gain secular political power over the world, but he will also extend that power into the religious world, using the power of the state to prohibit the practice of any other region, save Judaism.

There has been much discussion as to what Maimonides meant when he said that all those of the Jewish faith must “wait” for the moshiach.  It is now commonly believed within the Jewish community that it is a religious duty to actively work to bring about the coming of the moshiach and the messianic era.  For this reason, we can observe so many Jewish “activists” working to bring about the goals, as mentioned above.

Judaism and Christianity have opposing views about Jesus of Nazareth.  From the Jewish point of view, Jesus was not the moshiach (aka messiah), nor was he the Son of God, but rather he was just a dangerous heretic who needed to die.  From the point of view from Christianity, He is the Savior who brings forgiveness and eternal life to all who believe in Him.  I would argue that just as Judaism and Christianity have opposing views on Jesus Christ, those religions also hold opposing views on the “coming of the moshiach”.

The Beast

The Book of Revelation is filled with prophecy of what will happen in the End of Days, the period right before the return of Christ to this world.  The return of Jesus and His establishment of a 1000-year Earthly rule is very different from the Jewish beliefs regarding the coming of their secular moshiach and the Jewish messianic period.  However, Revelations foretells the coming of a ruler who will fulfill the Jewish beliefs in regards to their moshiach – the rise of the Beast.

If we examine the prophecies found in Revelation and also examine the words of both Christ and Paul, we find that the Beast, aka the Anti-Christ, will fulfill the Jewish expectations of their Moshiach, as outlined earlier.

In Revelation 13:1, we are told of the coming of the Beast:

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

The 10 horns on the Beast are interpreted to mean that the Beast will come to lead a mega-state, created from the political merger of 10 nation-states.  It is believed that in the Book of Daniel, there is a related prophecy.  In Daniel 7:7, it says:

After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

This prophecy is interpreted to mean that a revived Roman Empire will emerge, and that when it does, it will be the mega-state of the Beast.  Furthermore, in Revelation 13:7, we are told:

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

The Beast will leverage his control of his European mega-state, and eventually come to dominate the entire world – fulfilling the Jewish expectations of their moschiach in coming to control a world government, ruling over both Jews and gentiles.

Paul tells us that the Beast will not be satisfied with secular political power.  The Beast will seek to extend his power into the spiritual domain as well.  In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, Paul tells us:

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

In this prophecy, we see the Beast (the “man of sin”) entering the newly rebuilt Jewish Temple on the Mount (the “temple of God”).  Just as the Jewish belief that their moshiach will rebuild the Jewish Temple on the Mount, Paul tells us that the Beast will similarly be instrumental in rebuilding the Temple – in order to proclaim himself God.

This prophecy also tells us that the Beast will “opposeth and exaleth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped”, meaning that not only will he declare himself God, but also, the Beast will put himself above all other gods and religions – i.e., he will use his secular political power to ban all other religions, making all those under his dominion worship only himself as God.

Paul tells us that the Beast will fulfill the expectations of the moshiach, the Jewish secular messiah, by rebuilding the Temple on the Mount, and making “Judaism” – the worship of himself as the moshiach – the sole religion of the world.  Given the similarities between the expectations of the Beast and the moshiach, we can only conclude that the Beast will take on the guise of the moshiach and in doing so, will proclaim himself God.

Revelations tells us that this parallel between the Beast and the moshiach will be further strengthened by the arrival of the second Beast – the false prophet.  It is a traditional Jewish belief, which date back thousands of years, that the prophet Elijah will return in order to aid the moshiach in his rise to power.  Revelation 13: 11-12, tells a similar story about the Beast:

11And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

The second Beast will be the false prophet taking on the guise of Elijah, who will perform miraculous feats.  This false Elijah will command that everyone must worship the Beast as God, as foretold in Revelation 13: 13-15,

And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

The parallels between the expectations of the Jewish secular messiah, the moshiach, and the prophecies relating to the Anti-Christ, the Beast, are strikingly similar on so many fronts.  It is difficult to make any other conclusion except that the Beast will take on the guise of the moshiach as he ascends to not only politically dominate the world, but also to rule over his dominion as a god.

The Whore of Babylon

The Whore of Babylon is not mentioned until the end of Revelation.  It is almost like a back story where we look back to delve into something that was not part of the main story line.  In Revelation 17: 3-5, we are told:

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Among Biblical scholars, it has been generally accepted that the Whore of Babylon represents a religious body that will assist the Beast in his rise to power.  Many Protestant scholars believe that the Catholic Church is the embodiment of the Whore of Babylon.  Historically, the Catholic Church has taken on the tapestry of wealth as does the Whore.  Also, given its historical and ongoing issues with homosexuality and pedophilia among its priests and leadership, one can be sympathetic to those who hold this view.  However, despite the many failings of the Catholic Church, I believe it is one step too far to consider them the embodiment of the Whore of Babylon, as they are not explicitly and consciously working to bring about the rise of the Beast.

However, there is one religious group that is explicitly and consciously working on a political and social agenda that is perfectly consistent with that of the Beast – those of the Jewish faith who are working to bring about the rise of the moshiach and the Jewish messianic era.  We earlier mentioned the writing of the influential Jewish scholar Maimonides.   One of the 13 tenets in his treatise, is that all of the Jewish faith must believe in the moshiach and wait for his coming.  After considerable debate on the meaning of the tenet, it is now generally believed in the Jewish community that it is the religious duty of all Jews to actively work to bring about the rise of the moshiach and the Jewish messianic period.  Given that the political agenda of the moshiach is the same as that of the Beast, we can only come to the conclusion that it is the Jewish people who are working to bring about the rise of the moshiach, who are the embodiment of the Whore of Babylon.  Though they believe they are working to bring about the rise of the secular Jewish messiah, they are actually actively working to bring about the coming of the Beast.

Babylon

The 18th chapter of Revelation goes into great length to describe the destruction of Babylon.  Though there is a general consensus among Biblical scholars that the Whore of Babylon symbolizes a religious group that will aid in the ascension of the Beast, there remains an open debate about Babylon itself.  Given that this site has made the argument that those Jews who are working for the rise of the secular Jewish moshiach are the embodiment of the Whore of Babylon, and that they are the power behind the illegitimate Biden Presidency, it would then follow that we would argue that America is the embodiment of Babylon, as describe in the 18th chapter of Revelation.

The various depictions of Babylon fit America perfectly.  First, we are told that the “merchants of the Earth” will all mourn the destruction of Babylon.  Revelation 18:11 says,

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

It is more true today than ever before, that America is the main consumer of the world’s goods.  America’s trade deficit only grows year by year, as the producers of the world compete to see their goods to American consumers.  The entire global economy is geared to selling goods to America.  No other nation in the history of the world has been able to achieve this dubious distinction.

Not only will the merchants of the earth suffer great loss when Babylon is destroyed, but also those who ship the goods will also weep.  Revelation 18:   17-19 says,

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

18And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

19And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

America’s demand for the world’s goods has risen to such an extent that the congestion of cargo ships at the port of Los Angeles rivals the traffics jams of its freeways (which are legendary).  The cost to ship goods have similarly sky rocketed due to the massive spike in America’s demand for imported goods.  No time in history has America so closely resembled this depiction of Babylon.

Besides the economic similarity between America and Babylon, there is also a political/social resemblance as well.  Revelation 18:2 says,

And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

This site has argued that the Whore of Babylon, those Jews working to bring about the Jewish moshiach and the Jewish messianic era, are the power behind the illegitimate Biden administration, having stolen the last US Presidential election through massive voter fraud.  If our argument is correct, then truly “Babylon the great is fallen”.  The Whore has also been working hard to make America “the habitation of devils” and make it the home of “every foul spirit” and “every unclean and hateful bird”.  One perfect example is the sexualization of and the promotion of homosexuality to young children in America.  The Whore understands that homosexuality is the result of gay pedophilia.  Homosexual adults will sexually molest minors, and those minors will eventually sexually molest younger minors.  It would seem that even the US public school system is now engaging in the grooming of young children, making them more open to homosexual abuse.  Another example is the lack of enforcement of laws and of prison sentences, resulting in a growing spike in murder, assault, and robbery.  The streets become all the more dangerous for women and children, as sexual predators are similarly unleashed.  The Whore is truly working to make America a hellscape.

End Game

When Jesus walked on this world, He came to bring forgiveness and salvation.  At that time, Jesus focused His efforts on the Jewish people.  However, the Jewish religious establishment at that time, the Scribes and Pharisees, rejected Him as the messiah, as His words and actions did not conform to the historical traditional beliefs regarding the Jewish secular moshiach.  For two thousand years the Jewish people have continued to hold to their beliefs regarding the moshiach.  However, from the words of Jesus, Paul, and from the Book of Revelation, we see a different view point.  The coming of the long-awaited Jewish secular messiah (i.e., the moshiach) will finally take place in the latter stages of the End of Days – except he will be the Beast in disguise.  The Beast will fulfill the expectations of the Jewish people in regards to their moshiach, coming to hold not only political dominion over much of the world, but eventually elevating himself to Godhood and banishing all other religions.

However, before the Beast ascends to his final place of power, we are told that God will destroy the Whore of Babylon — and Babylon itself will also suffer in the process.  Believers will need to ride out the storm that is to come, but we can take hope that God will call up His Believers in the rapture prior to the opening of the Seventh Seal.  We will be called to the Marriage of the Lamb and become the Bride to Christ.  Live in the eternal now, serve God where you can, but also, make some preparation for what is on the horizon so that you may endure in your faith.
